General Information:
Entry fees for all entries must accompany the respective entry form and all late entries will be charged double the regular entry fees. All entry fees are non-refundable. Entries must be postmarked by April 27, 2007. NSR reserves the right to close entries because of pen space limitations anytime after the printed entry deadline. All hogs entered at a National Conference must have been owned by exhibitor from date of birth. Exhibitor must have owned the sow when pig entered was born. (Gilts that are double entered in the WPX and NJSA are exempt from the preceeding rule.) Exhibitor must be a junior or senior member of the National Swine Registry. All entries must be earnotched using the official National Swine Registry system. (Starting with litter number 1 in January and again in July each year.) All entries must be registered through NSR by May 25, 2007, or they will be processed with a rush fee. Entries will be divided into classes as equal as possible by farrowing date. No clipping is allowed in the barn. All entries should enter Gate 8 on Dean Avenue and proceed to the swine barn for unloading. Do not unload until your health papers have been approved by health officials. Hogs must arrive on grounds between noon, June 5 and 8 a.m., June 7. |
Health Regulations:
Each animal must be accompanied by an original official interstate health certificate or certificate of veterinary inspection from state of origin, issued by a licensed accredited veterinarian. Certificate must show: Name and address of consignor, consigned to World Pork Expo, Des Moines, Iowa, individual identification of animal; and health status of animal including dates and laboratory location of required tests and vaccinations. All swine must have individual health certificates and a duplicate of each certificate. Remember, only one animal per health certificate. All certificates must be issued after May 10, 2007. A. Brucellosis: All animals must be from a validated brucellosis free herd with the validation herd number and a date of last test on the certificate or be negative tested for Brucellosis after May 10, 2007, with negative result and date of the test written on the health certificate. B. Pseudorabies: All animals must be tested negative for PRV after May 10, 2007, with the test results and date of the test on the certificate. Either the Elisa, PCFIA, ALA, or S/N tests are acceptable (Differentiable Elisa test will not be accepted). C. All swine coming to
the show MUST be vaccinated against Lepto (6 way) including bratislava and
erysipelas. Dates of vaccination MUST be listed on the health certificate.
